German-American relations on track for the future
Berlin, 18 Sep 2008 – The way the Robert Bosch Stiftung (Robert Bosch Foundation) sees it, anyone who knows George Washington should also know who Konrad Adenauer was.
Since 1984, the Robert Bosch Stiftung has invited young American professionals to come to Germany for nine months to witness first-hand Germany and Europe’s cultural and political diversity. The participants are expected to be prepared to promote German-American relations and to hold leadership positions in politics, administration, marketing or media in their home country in the long term.
The Robert Bosch Stiftung combined the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of their ‘Fellowship Program’ with the ceremony celebrating its status as a ‘selected landmark’ in the Land of Ideas. Steffen Lang of Deutsche Bank presented the certificate to Dieter Berg, CEO of Robert Bosch GmbH. As part of the ceremony Günter Gloser, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and John M. Koenig, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the United States of America spoke about the opportunities and challenges of a new transatlantic agenda.
In this context, Minister of State Gloser praised the foundation’s work: “The Robert Bosch Foundation makes a significant contribution to international understanding. Thank you for this commitment.”
